As Niger gov. backs Asiwaju’s bid
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has visited former Head of State, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, also known as IBB, in his residence in Minna, Niger State, ahead of the forthcoming presidential election.

Tinubu, who visited IBB in company of the Niger State governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, arrived the Hilltop country home at about 2.30pm and both went straight into a meeting behind closed-doors.
The APC chieftain thereafter,explained his reasons for visiting the former military president, saying, he went to receive his blessings.
Tinubu, who had earlier visited Governor Abubakar Sani Bello to sympathise with the state over disrupting banditry, said there was no way he would visit Niger state and not pay courtesy call and receive prayers.

The Asiwaju disclosed that having declared his intention, he has started consultations and is ready to consult widely with relevant stakeholders across the nation.
Meanwhile, the Niger State governor Abubakar Sani-Bello, has backed the Asiwaju’s presidential aspiration.
Sani-Bello, stated this when Tinubu visited him on a condolence visit over the spate of killings by bandits in the State.
