2023: Kwankwaso, Hun?uyi, Dalung, Buba Galadima, others form ‘Third Force’

Former governor of Kano State, Sen. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, Sen. Suleiman Hun?uyi, of Kaduna State, former Sports minister, Solomon Dalung, Buba Galadima and other prominent Nigerians have formed a political movement called ‘Third Force’, to rescue power from the All Progressives Congress, (APC).

Under the auspices of The National Movement (TNM), the group said they are conscious of their strong duties to save Nigeria from disintegration.

The movement, whose mission the leaders said is to save the country’s democracy and rescue the nation, is set to battle for the soul of Nigeria from the hands of the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).

The movement was convened by Kwankwaso, along with other prominent Nigerians who gathered at the International Conference Centre, (ICC), Abuja.

Prominent Nigerians at the ICC included Elder statesman, Alh. Tanko Yakasai; Air Vice-Marshal Ifeanaju; Buba Galadima; Chief Solomon Edoda; Sen Prince Nweze Onu; Folasade Aliyu; Prof Rufa’i Ahmed Alkali; Sen. Suleiman Hunkuyi; Sen. Grace Ben; Sen. Umale Shittu; Ibrahim Ringim; Alh. Ali Gwaska; Chief Paul Okala; Rufa’i Hanga; Solomon Dalung; Idris Wada; Sen. AbdulRahman Abubakar, among several others.

Speaking at the occasion, former governor and ex-Minister of Defense, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, said the movement was borne out of a collective desire to rescue the country from the brink.

We all left our comfort zones to grace the occasion. It is a special day in the life of our nation. A special day to redeem the nation.

For too long, Nigerians have been waiting for this day. For too long friends of Nigerians abroad have been waiting for this day and the time is today and now, Kwankwaso said.

Today, all Nigerians across all social, religious and regions, have gathered; it is our collective resolve to rescue our nation from this difficult situation, Kwankwaso said, adding that his friends and associates met during the Covid-19 lockdown and resolved that a step must be taken to rescue Nigeria.

We resolved that there must be a Nigeria first before politics. While some of us will want to contest, we must work together to rescue the country.

The national movement has members in every local government area and outside the country, Kwankwaso said.
