As political parties and their respective presidential candidates vie to lead Nigeria’s next administration by winning the forthcoming 2023 election, the special Town Hall series: ‘The Candidates‘, is set to return on November, 17.

The programme is a two-hour live televised town hall meeting series, comprising the presidential and vice-presidential candidates of the six leading political parties and their running mates.
It is an original Daria Media concept, supported by the MacArthur Foundation, NTA and YouTube, towards the 2019 General elections to elevate election conversations to issue-based conversations. The town hall meetings provide an opportunity for the candidates to interact directly with the electorates and vice-versa. The parties were selected using a combination of editorial judgement, aggregated polls by the Centre for Democracy and Development, (CDD), occupation of elective offices and presence across the country.
According to the schedule of events, the town hall meetings will take place as follows: Adewole Adebayo and running mate, Yusuf Buhari, of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) – 17th November; Omoyele Stephen Sowore and running mate Haruna Garba Magashi, of the African Action Congress Party (AAC) – November 18th.
Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and running mate, Isaac Idahosa of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) – November 19; Peter Obi/Datti Baba-Ahmed of the Labour Party (LP) – November, 21st; Atiku Abubakar and running mate Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) – 22nd November, while Bola Tinubu/Kashim Shettima of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is slated for November 23rd.
Kadaria Ahmed, a leading Nigerian broadcaster and journalist, will moderate each town hall. She has been moderating presidential debates and town halls since the 2011 elections.
The Candidates will be live streaming and live broadcast production, providing a unique platform for direct interaction between the Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates of the leading political parties in Nigeria and its citizens.
The Town Hall series will be broadcast across Nigeria on all platforms, live on NTA, over 30 FRCN radio stations, and other partner TV stations, as well as streamed online on YouTube and social media platforms to enable Nigerians in the Diaspora to participate.
