The Zamfara State Police Command says it has rescued five out of the 73 abducted students of Government Day Secondary School, Kaya, in Maradun local government area of the State.
Recall that bandits stormed the secondary School, abducting not less than 73 students. The abduction prompted the deployment of security operatives in the State to the area to rescue the students.
The victims were rescued unhurt and have been reunited with their families.
The Commissioner of Police, Ayuba N. Elkana, who confirmed the development, assured residents of the state that a search is ongoing to rescue the remaining abductees in the bandits’ camp.
