Gunmen, suspected to be bandits terrorising Nigerias north-west region, have again unleashed terror on residents of Zamfara State.
At least fifty persons were abducted when the rampaging bandits attacked Gidan-Goga, in Maradun local government area of the State.
According to a resident, the armed non-State actors abducted over 50 women and children during the attack on Kakin Dawa village. The enclave was invaded at about 1:30 am on Sunday with the bandits bearing sophisticated arm, a local told newsmen.
It was gathered that the bandits abducted the victims, which included young girls and married women, by moving from house to house. The resident said, Everyone started running because the armed bandits have been targeting our village; later we discovered that more than 50 of our women were abducted.
Speaking further, he pointed out that the kidnapped victims included young girls and married women. He appealed to the Federal and the Zamfara State governments to deploy more military and security personnel to the axis in order to engage the terrorists.
However, efforts to get the reaction of the State’s Police command spokesman, ASP Yazid Abubakar was not successful as of the time of filing this report.
