…Calls for military base to curb terror attacks
Emir of Kaiama, Mu’azu Omar, has disclosed chilling details surrounding the deadly attack on Woro village in Kaiama local government area, Kwara State, which claimed the lives of about 75 residents.

The traditional ruler said the attackers gained access to the community by posing as religious preachers, exploiting the villagers’ trust and hospitality. According to him, residents welcomed the visitors without suspicion, unaware of their violent intent.
Speaking during a television interview, the Emir explained that the assailants used religion as a cover before suddenly launching a coordinated attack, turning what appeared to be a peaceful visit into a tragic bloodbath that plunged the community into mourning.
Mu’azu Omar attributed the worsening security situation in the area to the absence of a permanent military presence. He called on the Federal Government to urgently establish a military base in Woro, noting that surrounding forests and parklands provide safe havens for terrorists operating in the region.
The Emir also raised concerns about internal sabotage, alleging that some individuals within nearby communities are secretly aiding the attackers, further complicating efforts to restore peace.
