The Islamic group, Muslim Rights Concern, (MURIC), has asked the Federal Government to, without further delay, place a travel ban on outgoing US President Donald Trump.
MURIC made the call in a press statement issued yesterday by its director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola.
The group also wants Trump sanctioned along with his key allies for their ignoble roles in the US 2020 presidential elections, particularly the storming of the Capitol.
The group further said it strongly condemned the role played by Trump during the last general elections in the world’s leading democracy. According to MURIC, the President Trump’s refusal to concede defeat shows acute rejection of the spirit of sportsmanship.

Trump came under heavy criticism last week after he was said to have incited his supporters to attack the US Capitol in a bid to stop the certification of President-elect, Joe Biden’s win.
MURIC said it believes that by inciting his supporters which led to the storming of the Capitol Trump has stained America’s reputation as a great democracy.
