President Bola Tinubu has removed Imo State governor Hope Uzodinma as the Chairman of 2026 All-Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention Coordination Committee and replace him with former Speaker House of Representatives, Hon. Bello Masari.
Uzodinma, the Chairman Progressive Governors Forum, will now serve as the treasurer to the Convention Planning Committee.
According to reports, the replacement of Imo State Governor to promote inclusive and unity with the party.
The committee membership was also increased from 73 to 90 to accommodate more members, including Senator Barry Mpigi, Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe and other top APC chieftains.
Senator Barry Mpigi, a political ally of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike is the Senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial district.
While Sen. Ibrahim Oloriegbe represented Kwara-Central in the 9th Senate, and is currently Chairman, Governing Board of National Health Insurance Authority.
