President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and many prominent Nigerians have jointly hailed the remarkable achievements of three Nigerian schoolgirls who clinched top honours at the ‘2025 TeenEagle Global English Championship’, held in London, United Kingdom.

The students — Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu (17), Ruƙayya Muhammad Fema (15), and Hadiza Kashim Kalli — all from Nigerian Tulip International College, Mamudo, Yobe State, outshone over 20,000 participants from 69 countries to emerge global champions in various categories.
Nafisa was named the world’s best in English language skills, Ruƙayya topped the debate category, while Hadiza won the ‘Outstanding Talent Award’ along with a gold medal for creativity and presentation.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, President Tinubu described their victory as a “testament to the brilliance, resilience, and boundless potential of Nigerian youth”. He commended the students, their families, teachers, and school management, saying their success underscores the strength of Nigeria’s education system.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to educational advancement, the President highlighted initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, (NELFUND), which aims to remove financial barriers and expand access to tertiary education.

Meanwhile, a lawyer and diplomat, Kashim Tumsah, has announced a ₦1.5 million cash reward and brand-new laptops for the three girls — ₦500,000 and a laptop each — in recognition of their exceptional performance.
Speaking to newsmen in Damaturu, Tumsah praised the girls for bringing honour to Nigeria and described their victory as “a source of immense pride for Yobe State and the entire nation”. He attributed their success to the sustained investment in education under the state governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration, particularly in the North-East region.
“This achievement is a powerful reminder of what becomes possible when talent is nurtured with the right support. It showcases the future of a generation committed to academic excellence and global competitiveness”, he stated.
Tumsah also recalled that earlier in the year, he awarded ₦100,000 each to 29 students in Yobe who scored 300 and above in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, (UTME).
Both Tinubu and Tumsah urged the young champions to remain focused on their academic journey and assured them of continued support in realising their dreams.
