The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, (NiMET), has forecasted a mix of thunderstorms, sunny and cloudy weather conditions across various parts of the country from yesterday Sunday to Tuesday. Abuja, Kano residents, others face ‘extreme danger’ of heat stroke – NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has warned residents of most northern States, including Abuja, Kano, Sokoto and Kogi that they face ‘extreme danger’ of heat stroke on Saturday if precautions are not taken. NiMet, in a “Weather Warning for Heat Stress” alert, released yesterday, categorised Nigeria’s 36 states and Abuja into five based on the potential for heat stress. The categories are: Normal, Caution, Extreme Caution, Danger and Extreme Danger. NiMet predicts 3 days of heavy rains In FCT, Kaduna, 10 other States

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, (NiMet), has warned Nigerians especially residents of 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) of the prospects of heavy rain that may last for three days. This is contained in the agency`s bulletin, titled: “Heavy Rainfall Forecast Bulletin No: 2023005”. The agency warned that the three-day heavy rain fall, which was expected to begin yesterday, would especially affect Kaduna, Plateau, Nasarawa, Taraba, Cross River, Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta States and the FCT, and last till Friday, 12th May.
