The Nigerian Army has approved a major redeployment of senior officers, announcing fresh appointments across key operational, command, training and administrative positions, as part of efforts to strengthen its response to evolving security challenges. The changes, approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-General Waidi Shaibu, were disclosed in a statement yesterday by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele. The Nigerian Army has redeployed 60 Major-Generals and 11 Brigadier-Generals, in a major shake-up across formations and units. In a memo dated October 30, signed by the military’s  Secretary (Army) EL Okoro,, the affected senior officers are expected to resume their new primary assignments on November 3, 2025.
