FEC approves N20bn for 16 boats for Nigerian Customs

The Federal Executive Council yesterday approved a total sum of N20,114,002871 for the procurement of two NC36M patrol boats, seven fast-assault gunboats, seven regular patrol boats, and other equipment for the Nigerian Customs Service, (NCS). The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, disclosed this after the Federal Executive Council, (FEC), meeting. Import vehicles’ duties to begin next week – Customs

The Nigeria Customs Service, (NCS) yesterday announced that a slash on imported vehicles duties will begin next week. The Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali, who told newsmen that they are expecting an official communication from the finance ministry on the matter, added that the vehicle tariff reduction is contained in the 2020 Finance Act and initiated by the NCS to ease the cost of transportation in Nigeria. Two top retired government officials, the Ex-Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Abdullahi Dikko Inde and Accountant-General of the Federation, Jonah Ogunniyi Otunla have revealed how they refunded the sum of N8.2billion loot to the Federal Government’s treasury. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) generated the sum of N1. 562 trillion in the 2020 fiscal year. The Nigerian Customs Service yesterday officially opened Illeila border, by the Republic of Niger, for the citizens for the purpose of  import and export business activities. Kebbi: Nigerian Customs intercept guns concealed in rice bags

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted 73 locally manufactured guns and 891 cartridges at Yauri, Zamare waterside, in Kebbi State. The Customs’ Public Relations Officer, Joseph Attah, announced this in a statement yesterday, in Abuja.  According to him, some sacks were concealed under the bags of rice. He said that upon careful examination, the sacks were found to contain the weapons.
