The National Universities Commission, (NUC), has said that 100,000 academic staff members were attending to 2.1 million students in Nigerian universities. The NUC disclosed this in its latest bulletin, which was made available to newsmen, in Abuja. The Commission also stated that universities should be isolated from the Federal Governments circular on new employment owing to the shortage of lecturers. NUC directs varsities to re-open January 18, after 10-month closure
The National Universities Commission,(NUC), has directed vice-chancellors of universities to commence academic activities on January 18, in accordance with the directive of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) team on COVID-19. The directive was contained in a statement signed by NUCs Deputy Executive Secretary (Administration), Chris Maiyaki, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed.
