About 150,000 farmers and civil servants in the 21 local government areas in Kebbi State will benefit from the various ‘Anchor Borrower’s Programme’ loans facilities for all aspects of agriculture during the 21 farming season. Kebbi approves death sentence for kidnappers, life imprisonment for rapists

Kebbi State governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has signed into law, a Bill for life imprisonment for rapists and death sentence for kidnappers in the State. The State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Hajiya Rahmatu Gulma, confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin-Kebbi on Friday. Kebbi: Nigerian Customs intercept guns concealed in rice bags

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted 73 locally manufactured guns and 891 cartridges at Yauri, Zamare waterside, in Kebbi State. The Customs’ Public Relations Officer, Joseph Attah, announced this in a statement yesterday, in Abuja.  According to him, some sacks were concealed under the bags of rice. He said that upon careful examination, the sacks were found to contain the weapons.

Kebbi: One killed, as Customs Officers open fire on angry youths

A team of Zone B, Kaduna Customs officers operating on Kamba-Bunza Road in Kebbi State yesterday allegedly shot at a group of youths, killing one and injuring several others, according to reports. However, a statement issued by the commission’s spokesperson on Thursday, Ma Magaji, said the youths attacked the officers after they stopped a vehicle carrying sacks of foreign rice, which were allegedly imported illegally.
