Gunmen, in Kebbi State, have reportedly freed 30 students and a teacher of the Federal Government College, Yauri, after seven months of captivity, a local official has revealed. Thirty students of the Federal Government College (FGC) Yauri, in Kebbi State, who were abducted four months ago by bandits have been released. The spokesperson to Kebbi State Governor, Yahaya Sarki, confirmed the release of the students in a statement issued yesterday, but said the bandits are still holding an undisclosed number of others. After over 100 days in captivity, abducted FGC Kebbi Birnin-Yauri students freed

The over 90 students and members of staff of Federal Government College, (FGC), Birnin-Yauri, in Kebbi State, have been released. They regained freedom after spending 118 days in captivity. A father of one of the kidnapped students, who did not want his name in print, confirmed that the students have been released. The parent, however, did not disclose whether parents of the abducted students have reunited with them. As of the time of this report, the state government and the police are yet to issue any statement over the development.
