The Police Council has confirmed Usman Alkali Baba as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), almost two months after President Muhammadu Buhari approved his appointment.  Usman Alkali was confirmed during a meeting of the Council in Abuja yesterday, presided over by President Buhari. The Acting Inspector-General of Police, (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the immediate disbandment of the IGP Monitoring Satellite Offices in Lagos and Port-Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
