Reps to FG: “Suspend national census over insecurity”

The House of Representatives has called on the Federal Government to suspend the planned national census over Nigeria’s security challenges. This call was made by the federal lawmakers at Tuesday’s plenary session. The House of Representatives Committee on Army has disclosed that atleast 386 soldiers voluntarily disengaged from the army due to medical and other reasons in the second quarter of 2020 as confirmed by the House of Representatives Committee on Army. The House of Representatives is expected to commence investigation into the N83.9 billion appropriated for response to Covid-19 in the 2020 Appropriation Act.
