Nigeria among countries to see worsening hunger – Report

Nigeria is among the nine countries expected to see its hunger levels worsening throughout the year, according to the latest Global Hunger Index. The Index is a tool for comprehensively measuring and tracking hunger at global, regional, and national levels highlighted Afghanistan, Haiti, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Yemen, Burkina Faso and Mali as the other countries. UN allocates $15m to address rising food insecurity in Nigeria

The United Nations (UN) has allocated 15 million dollars from the 100 million dollars earmarked to Africa and the Middle-East to address food insecurity as the spillover effects of the Russia-Ukraine war threaten to push millions even closer to famine.
