Many residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have decried increased transport fares, which have limited their movement around the city centre. Some of the residents who spoke to newsmen, said that one of the greatest challenges they encountered was the non-availability of fuel despite its increased cost. According to them, fuel is not readily available at many filling stations, leading to artificial scarcity and panic, thus increasing the cost of transportation. There was palpable tension yesterday, as two Police officers were killed in a clash between police and members of the proscribed Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), popularly known as Shiites in Abuja.
