ABU Zaria decries staff shortage, urges lift of employment embargo

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria has decried the shortage of academic staff in some of the institutions faculties, attributing it to the deployment of Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System (IPPIS). FG opens portal to document unemployed Nigerians

Amid criticism of the employment deficit in Nigeria, the Federal Government has instructed that a portal be opened to document unemployed citizens. The federal government has disclosed plans to employ 20,000 young Nigerian graduates in fully paid one-year roles in public and private organisations. This is according to presidential spokesperson, Tolu Ogunlesi. The Rivers Executive Council has approved the employment of 5,000 youths into the State Civil Service. The approval was given at a meeting presided over by Governor Nyesom Wike at Government House, Port Harcourt, on Wednesday.
