Ebonyi: Gunmen invade Divisional HQ, kill policeman, burn patrol vehicles

One police officer has been killed and two patrol vehicles burnt following an attack on the Ohauku Divisional Headquarters of the Ebonyi State Police Command by suspected gunmen. The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday night but the police authorities reacted yesterday. The State’s Police Public Relations Officer, Loveth Odah, who confirmed the attack yesterday via a telephone conversation, said the officer died while being rushed to the hospital for medical attention after he sustained gunshot wounds. Insecurity: Ebonyi native doctors to register with Govt, Police

Ebonyi State governor, Dave Umahi, has directed all native doctors and traditional medicine dealers in the state to register with the State government and the Police within seven days. Umahi gave the directive on Wednesday, after the weekly State security council meeting in Abakaliki, the State capital.
