Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, on Monday inaugurated the State Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) Peace and Security Committee, declaring that his administration would provide the necessary political will to ensure its success. South Sudan Army says disarmament key to avert tribal skirmishes

South Sudans say an urgent civilian disarmament is necessary to mitigate inter-communal violence in the country. Lul Koang, spokesperson for South Sudan Peoples Defense Forces, said the new army Chief Santino Deng Wol had kicked off a disarmament exercise across the country, particularly in the state experiencing tribal conflicts.
