Nigerian troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF), North-East ‘Operation Haɗin-Kai‘, have rescued 74 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) from a possible abduction by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists along the Buratai–Kamuya road in Borno State. Several soldiers are feared dead and others injured after fighters from the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) attacked a military base in Ngamdu, Borno state, early yesterday morning. Reports said the terrorists stormed the Ngamdu military camp around 2 a.m. and began shooting at soldiers on duty. The insurgents reportedly carried out a late-night assault on the Ngamdu military camp, causing casualties among the troops.
