Scores of residents of Kaduna-Central senatorial district have taken to the streets in protest against an alleged non-performance by c.
The protest, which began around 7:00 am on Friday, witnessed a large turnout of protesters who are mostly youths.
Marching from Rigasa suburb, in Igabi local government area to the Kaduna metropolis, the protesters carried placards with various inscriptions such as: No more Uba Sani, We dont want Uba Sani, Uba Sani has failed us, among others.
According to the protesters, the protest followed a discovery that the Senator had shut down all communication windows with his constituents, adding that all his offices across the local governments he represents remain closed since after his election.
While accusing the lawmaker of non-performance in office negligence, the youth also alleged that Sani had never visited the constituency since after his election in 2019. They also alleged that he had been sleeping in the National Assembly, saying that he was not being visible on the floor of the Senate.
Senator Sanis attitude has continued to deny us the dividends of democracy that should have accrued to us since his election in 2019, the youth lamented. The senator was unable to respond to the calls or text message put across to him at the time of filing this report.
