Concerns have continued to trail the new dimension introduced to the ongoing hardship protests whereby protesters were seen flying the Russian flag in some locations in the country.
Recently In North-South East, South-West, South-South zones protesters boldly waved their Foreign Ethnic Tribal and Regional flags raising fears of a fresh twist to the already charged atmosphere in the country’s political landscape.
Speaking with Civil Rights lawyer, Barrister Al-Zubair Abubakar, during a LibertyTV Hausa current affairs programme: “INA DALILI”, he described the action of the protesters as a treasonable offense and a ‘dangerous development’, saying it is a dimension that must be stopped immediately.
“That is why the Government should view it seriously, identify those behind it and possibly prosecute them; because if it is allowed to fester, it will undermine our sovereignty”, he stated.
Recall that while the protest festered in some States, the Russian flag with red, blue and white colours was spotted in Kano, Plateau, Kaduna and Zamfara States.
