A specialist doctor in the field of physiotherapy in Nigeria and a Senior Lecturer at the Federal Government University in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, Professor Adamu Ahmad Rufa’i, described the recent award given to him by the Nigeria Society Of Physiotherapy as strengthening him in the discharge of his duties.

Professor Ahmad Rufa’i stated this when he spoke to journalists in Kaduna shortly after receiving the award given to him by the association.
“The award is such a special one to me, considering that a person has to be critically evaluated before it is given to him. I was selected among thousands of people and therefore, I am honored, and it has spurred me on as a physiotherapist to continue to give my best to humanity.
Professor Rufa’i described the work of medicine, especially the work of physiotherapy, as something very influential, which made him change his first choice of studying Medicine to the field of Physiotherapy when he entered the university after graduating from high school, because of its importance for the ordinary people, especially the less-privileged.
The Professor emphasised that there are no doctors who are sourced for and poached around the world like Physiotherapy doctors, because, according to him, there is no human being who does not need to go to a Physiotherapy doctor. He said many of the students he taught are now living abroad and conducting their work, adding that the reason why he did not join in leaving the country for greener pastures is because of his patriotism and the passion he has towards contributing positively to Nigeria.
Professor Adamu Ahmad Rufa’i called on the students, especially those studying Physiotherapy, to persevere and work hard in this field because of its importance to the life of the community as a whole.
