Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has said that politicians are responsible for the failure and collapse of Democracy in West Africa, and the world at large.
Ezekwesili, who stated this yesterday via her official Twitter handle: @obyezeks, said the politicians know and should stop acting surprised when things like Niger happen.
She wrote, “It is a fact that Democracy is sadly in crisis all over the world. However, democracy is not just struggling, but collapsing at an alarming rate in our own West African neighbourhood“.
The former minister questioned if politicians were ready to admit that their massive failures had grossly eroded the State’s capabilities and their legitimacy, losing the trust of their citizens.
