Criminals suspected to be kidnappers on Tuesday reportedly abducted three persons from a Toyota Sienna bus off Ibadan-Ijebu road in Ibadan.

The State’s Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident to newsmen in a statement yesterday.
According to sources, the hoodlums numbering about 10 carried out the abduction at about 11:30 am.
The hoodlums were said to have whisked their captives into the forest having successfully carried out their operation.
The case was said to have been reported to the police immediately and some armed policemen and vigilantes moved inside the bush on a rescue operation.

The kidnappers were said to have abandoned their captives and fled having realised that the security agents were closing in on them.
The victims were later picked up by the security men and they were brought to the main road.
The kidnappers reportedly attempted to kidnap some other persons at Maamu community which is near the scene of the first abduction but it was said to have been immediately foiled.
The PPRO said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the abductors.
