Bandits have reportedly abducted the district head of Ruwan-Rana, in Bukkuyum local government area of Zamfara State, Magaji Makau and five others.

An indigene of the area, Mohammed Musa told newsmen that the bandits, who rode into Ruwan-Rana town in the early hours of Saturday, killed one person during the attack.
They reportedly arrived in the town around 3 a.m., began shooting sporadically and later went from house to house, where they abducted the district head and five other prominent persons. It was alleged that they killed one person who refused to be abducted.
According to Musa, They went from house to house and abducted five people, including our district head, shot down one person, and later returned to the forest. I was not aware of those abducted until in the morning when I came out to hear that the district head, Alhaji Makau, was among the victims.
A member of the State House of Assembly representing the area, Hon. Hamisu Faru, who also confirmed the incident said, The security agents are making efforts to rescue the district head and the other five persons.
