For the second day, crack detectives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), yesterday grilled a popular socialite and businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, otherwise known as Obi Cubana.
Detectives reportedly spent hours screening his account records, including domiciliary inflows.
However, the anti-graft agency said Cubana was still in its custody as of 6.33 pm. A top source, who was privy to the ongoing investigation in the agency, said: Cubana is still with us, our operatives have been grilling him.
The source said crack detectives spent hours to interrogate Cubana on inflows into his accounts.
It is a case of suspected money laundering and the commission is only asking him to clarify some transactions. We have been screening his accounts and raising questions for him to answer. So far, he has cooperated with our team. But we have not released him, he stated.
