The Executive Chairman, ATAR Communications Nig. Ltd., Alh. (Dr.) Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan, heartily congratulate the Hon. Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on his turbanning ceremony as the Kakakin-Kabin Argungu, (Cultural Ambassador of Kebbi), by His Royal Majesty Alh. Sumaila Mera (Emir of Argungu), at the Emir’s palace in Argungu, Kebbi State, yesterday.
The turbaning, which took place at the forecourt of the Emir’s Palace in Argungu town, was on the sideline of the 2021 World Tourism Day, to be celebrated in Birnin-Kebbi today, Monday.
Specifically, the Emir said the emirate honoured the minister with the title as a show of appreciation for his effort in promoting the Argungu Fishing and Cultural Festival to attain international status.
The annual festival, which attracts local and international participants and tourists, was in 2017 listed by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
