Tension rose in Kano on Wednesday evening when the Chairman of the Kano Transition Committee Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, led the Recovery of Public Assets Sub-committee stormed the Kano State Public Procurement Bureau (Due Process Office) allegedly sold to the outgoing governor’s son at the sum of N10 million.

The former TETFUND boss inspected an empty office, which id located at State Road 500 meters away from the main entrance gate of Kano Government House.
Bichi, who appeared visibly shocked by his Committee said that “what Ganduje government is doing at the last hours of their administration of allegedly mortgaging the common franchise is unacceptable”.
The former ASUU activist declared: “We are deeply worried that the manner the way the outgoing exiting government of Ganduje is mortgaging the franchise of the good people of Kano leaves much to be desired”, adding that, “This is vandalism, they are vandalizing and uprooting every structure available in the State, this is not good for a government that was given good eight years but has now resorted to these unpatriotic actions”.
Bichi, however, warned that “We are not only going to recover these properties anywhere that is been sold, but we will surely prosecute anyone that engages in this unwholesome act”.
When contacted, the State Attorney-General, and Commissioner for Justice, Musa Abdullahi Lawal, said he is not aware of the transaction and he cannot comment on what he don’t have knowledge on.
Similarly, the State Commissioner for Information, Mohammed Garba promised to make inquiries on same and revert back to the press.
