Lagos: Two killed, 29 vehicles burnt in tanker explosion – FRSC

Two persons have been killed and 29 vehicles burnt in a tanker explosion that occurred along the Kara Bridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

This was disclosed by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) yesterday via a statement issued by the agency’s spokesman, Bisi Kazeem.

According to him, the FRSC Corps-Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi described the accident as unfortunate but avoidable, adding that frantic efforts were already in place to put an end to tanker explosions.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire was triggered by an explosion from a petrol tanker.

The incident led to heavy traffic on that section of the expressway on Saturday morning.
