…Dump body inside drainage
Kidnappers have killed and dumped the body of a 6-year-old boy inside a drainage in Kano State, after collecting N5 million ransom from his parents.
It was gathered that the victim, Mohammed Kabir, was abducted in Barnawa in Kaduna, where his parents are based. It was also gathered that the boy’s father is a businessman in the community.
A resident of the area who pleaded anonymity said the kidnappers initially demanded N50 million ransom, but later settled for a million naira.
“We heard the parents took the ransom to Zaria. From there the father was asked to go and get the boy’s body in Kano State”, she said, adding that “all of us were shocked in the community because the prime suspect was the father’s neighbour”.
A security source, who also spoke on anonymity, confirmed that the ransom paid to the kidnappers was a million naira in Zaria. “And after collecting the payment the kidnappers still murdered the boy”, he said.
The Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, Mohammed Jalige, who confirmed the abduction and the killing of the minor, however said the Police have arrested suspects including the neighbor linked to the abduction and the boy’s murder.
He said the suspects have all confessed to the crime, adding that investigation is on-going to arrest all those involved in the incident.
