Speaking at a media briefing held at TCN’s regional office in Kaduna, the General Manager for Transmission in the Kaduna Region, Engr. Nasir Mansur S. Fada, reiterated the company’s commitment to delivering a stable and efficient electricity network.

One of the major projects underway is the 330kV Double Circuit Kudenda-Mando transmission line. Once completed, this line is expected to evacuate 215 MW from the Kudenda Power Station to the 330/132/33kV substation in Mando.

However, Fada noted that progress has been hindered by delays in compensating Project Affected Persons (PAPs).

“There have been ongoing discussions between TCN and the PAPs in both Kudenda and Mando over compensation matters. These communities are critical stakeholders in the success of our projects”, he said.

He explained that while most affected individuals in Kudenda have received compensation, a few have rejected the offers, citing undervaluation of their land or exclusion from the original enumeration process.

“TCN is actively engaging with all relevant stakeholders to resolve these concerns amicably and accelerate project completion”, he added.

Fada also highlighted additional infrastructure developments, including the construction of a 2x150MVA 330/132/33kV substation in Jaja, which will connect to the 330kV Kano transmission line, and a 2x60MVA 132/33kV substation in Jaji, which will link to the 132kV Zaria transmission line.
