’Ansaru, Boko Haram regrouping in B/Gwari forests – Indigenes raise alarm
Farmers from communities across five local government areas of Kaduna State on Saturday protested incessant killings and kidnap of their members as well as their inability to access their farmlands due to activities of bandits terrorising the State.

The farmers, however, vowed that if the security challenges persist in the areas without a solution, they may be forced to take arms against their attackers.
The farmers, whose groups cut across towns and areas such as Kajuru, Mararaban Rido, Kachia, Kagoro, Kawo and Zaria, spoke through an issued statement by their chairman, Ibrahim Mustapha, that bandits have caged them and prevented them from going to their farms.
The statement came after the farmers had spent eight days at home without access to their farm due to insecurity
Mustapha said since 2015 when bandits spread across the State, they have not been able to go to their farms as they would love to.
The farmers leader ultimately pleaded with security agencies in the state to intensify efforts at combating the criminal activities of the bandits terrorising the State.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressive Union, Ishaq Usman Kasai, has raised an alarm that new evidence showed that two terrorist groups, Ansaru and Boko Haram, may be re-emerging in Birnin-Gwari Emirate of Kaduna State.
Kasai, in an interview with newsmen, expressed worry that Ansaru terrorists who had found a place to stay in the Birnin-Gwari forests, had commenced a recruitment process of locals in the villages. He said although the two terrorist groups were rivals, they have formed an alliance to launch attacks.
A source in Birnin-Gwari told newsmen that the terrorists have made the Emir to be spending most of his days in the state capital. The source said the monarch only visits his palace occasionally with the help of security agents.
