Kaduna abduction: Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic suspends academic activities

The management of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, in Zaria, Kaduna State, has announced the indefinite suspension of academic activities following the recent attack on the institution by suspected bandits.

The institutions’ Information Officer, Mahmud Kwarbai, broke the news in a statement yesterday.

Recall that on Thursday, a student was killed in an attack by the gunmen while 10 people, comprising eight students and two lecturers, were abducted.

Kwarbai said the attack had created tension, hence the indefinite suspension of activities at the institution.

The information officer added that students had subsequently been directed to vacate the institution immediately.

He, however, said IJMB students were excluded as their external exam conducted by Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) would commence on June 15.

Earlier, a source revealed that the gunmen who were in large numbers shot sporadically upon entering the school.

Suspected kidnappers last night attacked the Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, in Zaria, Kaduna State, last night, abducting scores of students and lecturers in the institution.
