Isa Funtua buried in Abuja

The remains of late Mallam Ismaila Isa Funtua were interred at the Gudu Cemetery at Abuja on Tuesday.

He died of cardiac arrest on Monday night. He was aged 78.

He was laid to rest at 1.47pm.

Isa Funtua was a political associate and in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Salat-al- Janazah was held before his burial at the Shehu Shagari Central Mosque, Area 1, Garki, Abuja, by the Chief Imam Area 1 Mosque, Sheikh Abdulahi Bala Yau.

Some of the dignitaries at the Janazah prayer and the burial include nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari, Mamman Daura; former Ogun Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun and FCT Minister, Mohammed Musa Bello.

Other present include Senator Tunde Ogheha; Yobe Governor, Mai Mala Buni; Former S.A. to President Buhari on Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yahaha Lawal and former Zamfara Governor Mahmoud Shinkafi.

Former Chairman of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Abdulahi Mohammed, former EFCC Chairman Nuhu Ribadu were also spotted at the event.

Some media guru like the Publisher Abuja Enquirer, Dan Akpovwa, Publisher Leadership Newspaper, Ndah Isaiah, Chairman of ThisDay /Arise TV, Chief Nduka Obaigbena, and Mohammed Idris of Blueprint Newspaper also graced the occasion.

Until his death, Funtua was the founding President of the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN) and former Managing Director of the Democrat Newspapers.
