The Emir of Anka, Alh. Attahiru Muhammad Ahmad Anka, has raised an alarm over frequent attacks on traditional rulers, saying that they are tired of appeals and that if nothing is done to stop the dastard acts, they should be allowed to carry weapons to protect themselves.
The monarch, who is also the Chairman, Zamfara State Council of Chiefs stated that nothing has been done to stop attacks on traditional rulers despite several appeals that have been made.
The Emir said: We are tired of appeals, appeals always, people are making appeals every day; if nothing is done I think it will be better to allow everyone to carry weapons for protection.
Meanwhile, a traditional ruler has reportedly been kidnapped in the State. According to reports, the acting Eje of Ankpa in Ankpa local government area of the state, Shuaibu Usman, was kidnapped while entering a mosque to observe prayers on Friday.
The incident was confirmed by the States Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Ede.
