Information Minister Idris, Ramalan, Broadcast Chiefs forge alliance to tackle national challenges through Media

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, yesterday hosted leading Broadcast Executives – Chairman, Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria, (IBAN), North-West zone,, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan, and AIT/Raypower boss, Chief Raymond Dokpesi Jnr — in Abuja for talks on deepening media collaboration in national development.

The meeting, held at the minister’s office, focused on strengthening cooperation between government and media organisations in promoting national orientation, culture, and public awareness.

Ramalan, who also chairs the Northern Broadcast Media Owners Association (NBMOA), urged government agencies and corporate bodies to leverage radio and television platforms to better engage citizens and drive policy communication.

He noted that effective media involvement could play a vital role in addressing pressing national challenges such as insecurity, kidnapping, and other social ills by enlightening the public and fostering collective responsibility.
