No fewer than six persons were killed in an attack by unknown gunmen that spanned across Ungwan-Magaji, Kigam, Kisicho and Kikoba villages, in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State.
According to reports, they also razed eight houses, six huts, motorcycles and a power generating set during the attack.
The State’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said, In a report from the Defence Headquarters ‘Operation Safe Haven’, the armed assailants attacked the mentioned villages early on Monday morning, and swiftly left six residents dead.
The deceased has been identified as Joseph Maza, Timvan Cibi Ciwo, Monday Titus, Asabe Magani, Laraba Danladi and Yosi Danladi.
Aruwan said Gov. el-Rufa’i has condemned the attacks in the strongest terms and expressed his sadness over the attack and condemned it as an act of depraved entities stripped of every shred of humanity and prayed for the repose of the souls of the victims, while sending his condolences to their families.
According to him, investigations are on-going in the general area.
