Rice is no doubt one of the most popular staples in Nigeria, and there is almost no home in the country where it is not consumed.
Kaduna-based Rice processing company, FalGates Nigeria Limited producers of FalRice has reiterated its commitment towards producing a quality rice across the country to complement the Federal Government’s efforts towards boosting rice production in the country.
The company also vowed to make rice available at all times, adding that the product always passed through different quality assurance analyses before being released for consumption to its teeming consumers.
In an interview with newsmen in Kaduna, Managing Director of the company, Abubakar Sadiq Falalu, stated that the companys vision has always been to preserve and enhance rice production in Nigeria by ensuring genetic integrity of rice.
The Managing Director reiterated the companys commitment towards producing quality rice across the country to compliment the Federal government efforts on boosting rice production in the country. He explained that the Company will continue to maintain the quality of the rice they are producing since the inception of the company over the years.
He said FalGates has diversified into rice seedling farming, and that it is acquiring farmland to grow its own paddy, as part of the backward integration strategy.
According to him, the company has acquired over 1,000 hectares of farm in Kaduna, and employs over 400 people; and have created almost 1,000 indirect jobs to youths, adding that it has also built a school for the neighbourhood community, which is presently having over 50 students.
Investigation by our reporter revealed that FalRice processes up to 160 metric tonnes of rice daily.
The Managing Director promised to make the rice available at all times, stating that the product always passes through different quality analyses before being released for consumption.
The company produces premium varieties of rice from farmed paddy, which are branded and distributed nationwide.
