EndSARS: Plateau NOA urges calm

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Plateau has called for calm among youths over the #EndSARS protests to enable government to work out a lasting solution to the issues involved.

A statement signed by Dazong Dung, Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the acting State Director of the Agency on Wednesday in Jos, urged the youth to remain calm to allow government to look into their demands with a view to proffering lasting solutions to them.

According to Dung, the only way of reaching a consensus in a conflict situation is through dialogue.

“We therefore call on government to engage the youth in a constructive dialogue in order to come to the end of the problem.

“We appeal to parents, religious leaders, traditional rulers and opinion moulders to call their wards and subjects to order to be law abiding as we wait government further action,” he said.

It said the agency regretted the resultant destruction of lives and property of both government and private individuals in the peaceful protests hijacked by hoodlums and miscreants.
