Dont come to FEC meeting unless you’re invited, Tinubu warns

Barely few days after the Supreme Court affirmed Bola Tinubu as the duly elected President of Nigeria, he has come out in strong terms to set the ground rules that would guide subsequent Federal Executive Council (FEC) meetings.

While presiding over the FEC meeting yesterday, at the Council Chambers, Tinubu took a few moments to sound a stem warning, saying he had observed unauthorised persons gaining access into the Council Chambers of the State House.

Tinubu also expressed confidence in his choice of Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, warning that all campaigns of calumny against him should stop henceforth.

First of all, let me reiterate to all of you the fact that a lot of stories are going around about what is happening. Ive told everyone in this country that I can make mistakes, theyre bound to air them out and correct them.

Perfection is that of God almighty. I have absolute confidence in the integrity of my Chief of Staff. All campaigns of calumny and insinuations should stop; the buck stops here. If I make a mistake, Im ready to own up to it; and were all joining hands to fight corruption. And we want to enforce the law along with you, the President said.

Meanwhile, the Council gave a minute of silence for a former member of FEC and one-time Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Adamu Fika, who died last week at the age of 90 years.
