…”He was my classmate at University” Old school mate
A US court has adjourned ruling on a subpoena application for Bola Tinubus records from Chicago State University (CSU) after the institution denied knowledge of a certificate the Nigerian president submitted to the countrys Electoral Commission, INEC, to run for office.

According to reports, CSU lawyer, Michael Hayes told the court that the school was not in a position to authenticate Tinubus certificate as either fake or genuine. He said that the schools administrators would not be able to certify the certificate because they just dont know where Tinubu obtained it or how.
Hayes also admitted that there were several contradictions in Tinubus certificate, including the date it was issued and the name of the school president at the time.
Recall that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PD), in the 2023 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar had filed a suit to compel CSU to produce records relating to Tinubu and make its top officials available for deposition to certify the produced records.
Abubakars lawyers said the documents and depositions are being sought for use in the Nigerian Supreme Court, where the final battle over Tinubus election is now headed.
Tinubus lawyers, represented via telephone conference by Christopher Carmichael, noted that the previous statements of CSU to the effect that Tinubu graduated from the school were enough. He said there was no need to produce further evidence or place the schools officials under oath to speak to the authenticity of Tinubus certificate. According to him, the proceeding would only fuel online trolls because the Supreme Court wont accept new evidence even if produced.
Some contradictions and other discrepancies were identified by Atiku Abubakar regarding Bola Tinubu’s University certificate which he submitted to INEC on June 17, 2022, which led him to file a lawsuit compelling CSU to provide records related to Tinubus educational history.
In a related development, a public affairs analyst, Durojaiye Ogunsanya, speaking during an interview during a television programme yesterday, claimed he graduated from the university alongside President Tinubu from the Department of Accounting and Business Administration in 1979.

Ogunsanya said they were both members of the accounting club in the school, adding that Tinubu was elected as the President of the Accounting student club at CSU between 1978/1979.
According to him, We were in the same department, class, and college. We met in school at Chicago State University (CSU) and we were in the same department – College of Accounting, Business Administration – with a major in Accounting. We graduated together. He did attend the Chicago State University and he graduated in 1979 as I did. Im here to testify that he did attend the university and he was a good student”.
People were being mischievous in the first place; because he was a governor for eight years; he worked for Mobil for several years, and you are contesting that he did not go to university. How is that possible?
