Subsidy: NUJ threatens to withdraw services, join NLC protest

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has directed its members to withdraw their services and commence protests nationwide from Wednesday if the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNCPL) refuses to reverse the new price regime in the oil sector. NBC plans to Appeal Court judgment on its sanctions, fines

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) is to appeal against the ruling by the Abuja Federal High Court that barred it from imposing fines on Nigerian broadcast stations. Recall that the presiding judge, James Omotosho, said in his ruling on Wednesday that NBC lacked the judicial powers to impose penalties and gave an order of perpetual injunction restraining the NBC from imposing fines, henceforth, on broadcast stations in the country.
