The protesters accused the administration of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, of revoking and reallocating legally acquired lands to political allies and associates.

Carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs, the demonstrators demanded the protection of public spaces, particularly Jabi Lake and Jabi Park, warning against attempts to privatize or encroach on the areas.

Some of the banners displayed inscriptions such as “Save Jabi Lake Now,” “Save Jabi Park Now,” and “Stop Land Grabbing in Abuja.”

As the protest continued, demonstrators also directed criticism at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, alleging widespread irregularities in land allocation within the capital city.

The protesters called for transparency in the FCT land allocation process and demanded an immediate end to what they described as the systematic takeover of public lands.
