President, Nigeria Bar Association, (NBA), Yakubu Maikyau (SAN), has said that in the NBA report, 20 percent of those who turned in their report said the 2023 election was excellent, and also 67 percent of those who turned in their report said that the election was satisfactory.

Yakubu Maikyau made the statement in an interview on a television programme, when he was told that some people question how he is leading the NBA with respect to his comments and assessment of the 2023 election, comparing it with election union observer report that came out, and was asked, how he will respond to those who believe that EU did a better job than the NBA.
Yakubu Maikyau clarified that his comment and assessment of the 2023 election was based on empirical evidence and that he is not a careless talker.
He revealed that during the last election, NBA deployed 1,000 observers across Nigeria but he does not know how many European Union observers were deployed across Nigeria.
He further revealed that in the form that NBA created for the report by their observers, there was a column where they say they should tell them if there are foreign or international observers at their polling units.
“20% of those who turned in their reports said the election was excellent; 67% of those who turned in the report said election was satisfactory”.
He then asked that how many polling units did EU went to, and how can Nigerians elevate the report of 50 people against 1,000?”
