…Says insecurity won’t force him out of office
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that insecurity and political opposition will not compel him to abandon office, affirming his intention to contest for a second-term in 2027.

Speaking amid ongoing security challenges across the country, the President accused unnamed forces of attempting to exploit insecurity to weaken and ultimately unseat his administration.
He warned that such actions play into the hands of political adversaries seeking to destabilise his government. “You are playing into the hands of agents, including my own enemies who want to use insecurity to get rid of me”, Tinubu stated.
The President, who spoke firmly while seated at his desk with the Nigerian flag behind him, described himself as a resolute leader unwilling to be pressured out of power. He emphasised his determination to remain focused on governance while preparing for the next electoral cycle.
“I’m a very stubborn politician and I just refuse to go. And I will campaign for my second-term. I will work,” he added.
Tinubu’s remarks come at a time of heightened political discourse ahead of the 2027 general elections, with security and governance issues expected to dominate national debate.
