During a courtesy visit to his Hilltop mansion in Minna by a political movement, ‘The Nigerian Project”, Babangida reaffirmed his belief in a united and prosperous Nigeria, emphasising that a divided nation cannot progress.

While reiterating his belief in one Nigeria and its indivisibility, the former President advised Nigerians to remain loyal to the country and its leadership, and advocated for inclusive governance where citizens’ voices are heard, ideas debated, and policies implemented for national progress. “I believe in one Nigeria, and on its unity, I stand. Thank you for following my footsteps and upholding the ideals of patriotism and national unity, which we all fought for”, IBB told the delegation.

He urged Nigerians to remain loyal to the country and its leadership, advocating for inclusive governance where citizens’ voices are heard, ideas debated, and policies implemented for national progress.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation and National Convener of The Nigerian Project, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba, described TNP as Nigeria’s fastest-growing political organization, with structures across all 36 states, the FCT, and all 774 local government areas and wards.

He said the organisation is committed to reviving the ideals, philosophies and doctrines that once made Nigeria great, fostering national discourse, ensuring inclusivity, and breaking barriers to intellectual and economic empowerment. “We are committed to reviving the ideals, philosophies and doctrines that once made Nigeria great, fostering national discourse, ensuring inclusivity, and breaking barriers to intellectual and economic empowerment”, Ufomba stated.

Ufomba emphasised TNP’s dedication to electoral reforms that ensure that votes count, highlighting IBBnomics as a framework for integrity, transparency, and accountable leadership. He hinted on the need to return to a two-party democratic system and a holistic reform of the electoral system.

Founded in 2007 as Babangida’s political structure, TNP has evolved into a mass movement advocating patriotism, loyalty, and national development.

With renewed momentum ahead of 2027, the group is poised to play a decisive role in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape.
